Who we are
Halifax Meals on Wheels is a charitable, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to supporting independence and enhancing quality of life across HRM. Since 1969, we have been providing nutritious meals to individuals who are unable to prepare food for themselves.
Today, our service goes beyond meal delivery. Each visit includes a friendly check-in, meaningful social connection, and an informal wellness check — offering reassurance not only to our clients, but also to their families and caregivers.
What began as just a few meals per year has grown to nearly 30,000 annually. Through strong partnerships with local organizations and healthcare providers, we continue to adapt and expand our impact to meet the evolving needs of our community.
